What melodies can evoke the vision of a painting ? Personalities from the artistic world and various other fields will answer this intriguing question during the meeting "Music & Paintings". Paintings, chosen from the temporary exhibitions or from the permanent collections of the Art Museum of Svizzera italiana Lugano - present a visual counterpart to a musical performance chosen in their honor.

In a journey between image and sound, Etienne Reymond, Angela Lyn and Jesse Bannister invite the audience to explore Cedaring, Lyn’s large format triptych, recently added to the MASI collection.
Angela Lyn is an established artist of Anglo-Chinese origin, presently living and working in Lugano, Switzerland. Her work focuses on the relevance of painting in a world dominated by electronic media, technology and an ever-faster production of the new.
Jesse Bannister is a unique Anglo-Indian composer and musician, Based in the UK, he is recognized as the leading Indian Saxophonist in Europe. His music relates to both contemporary jazz and traditional Indian music. He is currently engaged in various multi-disciplinary projects in the UK and abroad.
Lyn and Bannister, both biracial, share common ground in their cultural diversity and engage with mutual interest in exploring the boundaries and connections between their art forms.
