This season's Artist-in-residence is cellist Gautier Capuçon, the French musician who grew up with the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester and trained with Bernard Haitink, Pierre Boulez and Claudio Abbado.
The long-established St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra will open the season on Monday 16 September. Conductor Yuri Temirkanov will face Mahler's First Symphony Titan and Beethoven's Fourth Piano Concerto, played by Nelson Freire.
