Three events focus on the musical form that has been considered from the 18th century onwards as a summit to be reached. Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven count among the many composers to have shared this ideal. Friday 31 January, Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 February, LuganoMusica will host three string quartets. The Cuarteto Casals will perform pieces by Haydn, Mozart, Francisco Coll and Beethoven, to whom the ensemble has devoted a project spanning several years. The Modigliani Quartet will be returning to the LAC with a program including Mozart, Ravel and Grieg. The Schumann Quartet's programme includes works by Mozart, Shostakovich and Mendelssohn.
