There is still a lot to discover on the interpretation of the classical and romantic repertoire for strings, starting from the performance on historical instruments, from the study of the sources and from the collaboration with musicologists, luthiers and bow makers. With this conviction Fiorenza De Donatis, Andrea Rognoni, Stefano Marcocchi and Marzo Frezzato founded AleaEnsemble. For LuganoMusica the strings of AleaEnsemble choose quartets by Joseph Haydn, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Luigi Boccherini. The engraving of op. 2 by the Italian composer with Stradivarius won the "Diapason d'Or" in 2008.
