String Quartet No.1 in E major, op. 11

The Russian soul is profoundly musical, made of intense emotions that emerge slowly and whose high degree of tension doesn't dispel quickly. The arts sublimate all the sensations of a land that has always had great vocal richness, pervaded by a melancholy that gathers the songs of the oppressed but also the reflections of a unique landscape, endless steppes, snowy plains, looks, faces, stories and loves of iconic characters. These images have become familiar through books, paintings, theatre, opera and ballet, thanks to authors whose legacy is immeasurable. They will again come to life in an evening organised by LuganoMusica in collaboration with the LAC, dedicated to the great Mother Russia, with the music and the words of two of her most beloved children: Dostoevsky and Tchaikovsky.
