What sounds can the vision of a painting evoke within us? Different personalities – some artistic, some not – answer this intriguing question within the "One painting One music" encounters. The paintings, chosen among the temporary exhibitions or within the collections of the Museo d'Arte della Svizzera italiana Lugano (MASI), will offer a visual pendant to the musical piece chosen in their honour: a sound echo of the pictorial material.

Lorenzo Sganzini
As director of the Culture Division of the City of Lugano, Lorenzo Sganzini was a decisive personality in the conception of the LAC cultural centre. He experienced first-hand the relationships between institutions dealing with visual arts, music and theatre. Having given up his role as director, he will be a guest of LuganoMusica in the course of the One painting One music series. The meeting with Lorenzo Sganzini will allow the public to discover some of his most personal traits and his views on the arts.
