Live is the minimal or highly articulated electroacoustic manipulation and/or creation of sounds. All in real-time, with a fascinating narrowing of the differences between the instrumental and electronic performer, or even the machine itself. Who does what? Which sounds are original and which are modified? From works for instruments and support – once it was magnetic tapes, today it is files stored on the computer – to laptop orchestras, the figure of the human performer takes centre stage.
