This chamber music project stems from both the friendship between the three musicians Johanna Vargas (soprano), Marcus Weiss (saxophone) and Uli Fussenegger (double bass), and two extraordinary compositions by Beat Furrer: Lotófagos (2006) for soprano and double bass, and In mia vita da vuolp (2019) for soprano and baritone saxophone.

In addition to these two works, the programme includes three new trio works by Katharina Rosenberger, Klaus Lang and Nadir Vassena. All three composers have a very personal relationship with the voice and approach this unusual formation from very different perspectives. As a result, the programme becomes a kind of kaleidoscope of the trio's three “voices”.

The project is a co-production with Gare du Nord in Basel, Wien Modern and the steirischenherbst' festival.
